Art is a metaphor. It speaks of life poetically and uniquely. Throughout history artists have interpreted their subjects in many ways, realistically, abstractly, impressionistically and expressively. My paintings have a sense of realism, yet they are expressive as seen through their use of exaggerated color and abstracted and imaginative imagery. Painted with pure pigment directly from the tube and applied to the surface spontaneously, my paintings seek to capture a purity and freshness of their subject matter. They are metaphors that speak of an inner sacredness.
